Entry examples

Journal Entry: Tue Mar 12, 2013, 6:56 AM

Edit: Added more examples to clarify that subject matter DOES NOT have to be nature related; could be about culture, people's hobbies, lifestyle. Doesn't have to be natural landscapes!(scroll to bottom please)

We won't be strict about the colour of the characters, objects, but the overall picture must give off the impression of the colour you have chosen. In fact, we encourage you to experiment with colours, exploring the depth of toning and lighting using different kinds of colour!

Here are some examples of what kind of artworks we are looking for in terms of colour composition and quality:

Examples regarding subject matter

We'd like to emphasis that our theme doesn't necessarily have to reflect NATURE, but can also anything that exists on our Earth including CULTURE, TECHNOLOGY, HOBBIES, FESTIVALS (including christmas, birthdays, easter, valentines day etc.)

Simply a portrait of a human is fine! (but it's up to you to make it unique)
Here are some examples regarding the subject matter that is allowed, if you are not comfortable with drawing natural landscapes etc:

All of these examples (listed in the journal) are acceptable, even in terms of subject matter. Hope this is enough examples.

Is it all right if the creature/human is not necessarily the focal point, but is still included in the picture?

Hi there! I have a silly question about the artbook contest ;A;
In the Rules & Terms section sais that the entry will be disqualified if had "Anything that may suggest fantasy or extraterrestrial backgrounds and landscapes". May some of the examples above suggest fantasy (mostly fantasy landscapes)? Or anything with similar context is allowed? As far as it has a full human in the artwork, can it be any kind of landscape?
Sorry if I don't make any sense :iconsulkplz:
Thank you for you time!

Its ok, i know its quite confusing.
The examples above would are great examples of what you can do in your entry. By 'fantasy' we mean anything that shows of a fantasy nature eg. Green skies.you can make up your own landscape thats fine, but it must reflect the actual nature of our earth!

Winged creatures are also allowed (for example that horse one), but cannot be winged humans, humans must remain humans

Oh! Ok, now I think I understand what you mean!!
So I can make my own landscape as far as it has actual nature of our earth! And I can combine anything of the nature of the earth, right?
Sorry for causing so much trouble and misunderstanding! :iconcryforeverplz:
Thank you so much for the clarification! ;u;

Oops just to avoid further confusion, red skies are allowed given that the piece depicts a sunset or the whole composition is based on the colour red. What I mean is you can't draw a landscape of Mars for example (Mars has red sky during morning and afternoon)
